Welcome to the Kre8tors Blog Hop. As usual, I am excited to be a part of this creative group of demonstrators! Our theme for this month is “Spring Color Challenge”.
This beautiful picture is the inspiration for this month’s challenge.
For the challenge, we were to use at least 3 of the following colors from the picture. The colors are:
Granny Apple Green
Daffodils Delight
Mango Melody
Highland Heather
Gray Granite
My Project
I decided to use Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight and Highland Heather. I really love these colors! I made two variations of this card for the hop. I love how both of them turned out. The stamp set is one of my favorites from the occasions catalog called All that You Are. I stamped the large flower in stazon on whisper white card stock. Using wink of Stella I watercolored the flower in Daffodil Delight, the leaves in Granny Apple Green and the small flowers in Gorgeous Grape. I took a close-up of the flower and hopefully you can see the shine and sparkle from the wink of Stella. The watercolor panel was then glued to a piece of highland Heather card stock. Both panels were cut using the rectangle framlits from the occasion‘s catalog. For the card base, I used thick whisper white and covered the entire front with the Gingham Gala DSP in Highland Heather with the small checks facing up. Then, I adhered the flower panel at an angle to the card with dimensionals. The Happy birthday was stamped in Granny Apple green and cut out using the 1 3/8 circle punch I sponged around the edge of the circle in Granny Apple Green as well. The Happy birthday was attached to the top left corner. The large butterfly is from the Butterfly Gala stamp set. I punched it out with the matching butterfly duets punch, and colored it in wink of Stella using Daffidil Delight and Granny Apple Green ink. It was adhered to the bottom right corner with a dimensionals.
For my next project, Imdid something similar but this time I Stamped the flower with Stazon on Highland Heather cardstock. I used a chalk marker to define the lines in some of the areas. I colored the leaves with green, the buds in yellow and added a touch id Gorgeous Grape to the small flowers. I added Wink of Stella to all the images. I love how it soaked into the paper and darkened the large flower! I layered this panel on a piece of Highland Highland Heather embossed with the country floral embossing folder.

beautiful cards, both of them. I’ve never heard of chalk highlights after stamping with stazon. It looks great! What did you use to colour the flowers? I am assuming blends, but I might be wrong. Am I?

I used Wink of Stella. I dipped it into the ink, just as if using the watercolor brush. I love how it gives it a glittery look!
